ABOUT/ Smoke&Oakum
We’re restless filmmaker-tinkerers who’d rather build with new tools than wait for old ones to catch up. At Smoke & Oakum, proven production craft meets wizardry, turning “wouldn’t it be cool if…?” shots into the next cut in the timeline. We prototype fast, iterate faster, and keep the human touch that gives a film its heartbeat. Think of us as the workshop where generative fever dreams are hammered into real-world frames, with story and soul front and center.
Formed by Adam Witten, Nick Haynes, and Sacha Djordjevic, we bring decades of production experience into an iterative, non-linear process built for vision and true creative collaboration. The resulting work is authentically crafted and considered. If you’re looking to move fast, think clearly, and build stories that make you feel—we’d love to talk.
Adam Witten – Creative Director
From cutting kinetic campaigns for well known brands and agencies to shaping short works that move the cultural needle, Adam’s directing and editorial compass has always pointed toward visual story and emotion. With that same instinct aimed at generative filmmaking—he has gained prominence engineering contemporary workflows that keep craft in the driver’s seat while turning bold ideas into polished frames at warp speed.
Nick Haynes – Executive Producer
With 20-plus years shepherding post-production powerhouses—helping launch The Mill’s first U.S. office, scaling Absolute Post’s New York team, steering MPC and Carbon, and most recently The-Artery—Nick has turned “what if” briefs into world-class work. Known for blending sky-high creative ambition with bulletproof logistics, he builds shops where creative is protected, clients feel heard, and impossible ideas land.
Sacha Djordjevic – Creative Technologist
With two decades in high-end VFX—credits ranging from The Wolf of Wall Street to Super Bowl spots—Sacha has learned to bend pixels (and pipelines) to creative will. He honed a distinctive skillset in leadership roles as a creative artist and department head at Method Studios, MPC, Framestore and The Mill, and as a VFX supervisor on films and episodic shows for Amazon, Netflix, and Apple TV. Today, he channels that deep experience into machine learning–aided finishing that saves time in post while delivering value you’ve never seen before.
